Aquind and their proposed ‘Interconnector’ cable project that would connect the UK National Grid power supply with RTE in France at Normandy has been in the background for perhaps two years now.

On the 14 November 2019 Aquind formally submitted the application to the Planning Inspectorate. This means that it will not be heard locally by East Hants or Winchester District Councils.
The Planning Inspectorate has 28 days to review the documents that have been submitted and confirm if the application has sufficient complete information to be considered or not. At this time the documents are not available to view but they will be if the application is registered as valid.
From briefings we understand that the final cable route that has been selected will run through Denmead, not Lovedean. The chosen location for the site is to the West of the existing substation.
HERE is a link to the Aquind application on the Planning Inspectorate website where the documents can be viewed once they are uploaded.

When the documents have been made publicly available there will be an update.
Appose it,,,, Regect it,,,,, Ban it,,,, Stop it,,,
Simple. We don’t want a cable running from Eastney through Portsmouth up the Eastern Road over the Hill through Widley Purbrook Waterlooville and end up in Lovedean. Mad stupid money pocketing idea And coming from France. Come on people Councillors MPs wake up before it’s to late. Crazy Stupid idea!
Portsmouth City Council’s Deputy Leader, Councillor Steve Pit, has, quite properly in my opinion, slated Aquind’s Plans as reported in The News yesterday:-

Lets keep our fingers crossed then. Remember Trust Not Tricks??
