RESIDENTS JOIN TOGETHER TO OPPOSE PROPOSED LOVEDEAN SUBSTATION DEVELOPMENTS
A group of residents in Lovedean and Denmead have formed a new action group called Action to Protect the Living Environment Around Lovedean/Denmead (APLEAL) in response to the recent proposed plans to build two new energy storage systems and an interconnector station immediately adjacent to the Lovedean electricity sub-station.
The proposed location for these current developments lies just outside the boundary of the South Downs National Park on open, flat farming land, overlooked not just by residents in the immediate surroundings, but also by the wider community who enjoy the scenic country lanes and footpaths in the area.
The aim of APLEAL is to safeguard the local landscape and environment that is under threat from these two separate developments. They will be liaising with all residents and groups who share their interest in order to co-ordinate a coherent and reasonable opposition to these developments, and make sure the views and concerns of anyone adversely affected are fully understood by the local authorities and relevant parties.
APLEAL is keen to hear from anyone who would like more information or who wishes to join the action group. They can email apleal2018@gmail.com to get in touch.
For all press enquiries, please contact Jeremy Warren, Chairman, APLEAL via email apleal2018@gmail.com
I would like to be informed of any developments regarding the proposed convertor station in Lovedean. As a resident I am concerned that thIs facility will have a severe detrimental effect on the whole area due to its size and capacity.
