Chalk Hill Road was one of the sites that Taylor Wimpey sought to build on in 2015 and was refused by EHDC in line with the feedback from the ‘Where To Build Consultation’ we organised. Taylor Wimpey lodged an appeal against this decision just a few days before their 6 month window of opportunity ended and this has again caused unnecessary concern amongst residents and the community.
Happily the appeal has been withdrawn before the hearings – probably after Taylor Wimpey assess the costs to proceed and the chances of success. At this time EHDC is winning about 9 out of 10 appeals that are brought against the planning decisions and loosing the appeal leaves them at risk of costs being awarded against them.
Clearly this is an excellent outcome and Cllr Schillemore (Ward Councillor) said “EHDC were almost certain to win this appeal and I am delighted for the residents who would have been most affected by additional traffic accessing the site that Taylor Wimpey have withdrawn their appeal and thank residents for their support”
Excellent news – and thank you to all who have been working hard to achieve this result.
Very pleased to hear this and fully endorse Carolyne’s thanks above.
Hooray ! many thanks Guy for keeping us informed and your assistance, and to all my fellow neighbours who raised very valid reasons why this should have never been submitted in the first place.
Good news especially about all the extra traffic that won’t be causing problems in that area now. Pity the same can’t be said for the Havant Road end of Horndean . Gridlocks every day ?
Many thanks to all of the Councillors who laboured on behalf of those of us living in the vicinity of Chalk Hill Road. We really do appreciate all your efforts.
