Do you know how you’re going to vote in the referendum on our membership of the European Union?
Well, some people do but a great many people I talk to are unsure, often finding themselves faced with the prospect of making a decision that they feel they don’t have enough information to make. So I thought it might be useful to set up a couple of meetings in the Meon Valley constituency where you can ask questions of people whose business it is to know about the EU.
Now just to be clear, these evenings are about information and not about persuasion.
We have speakers from both sides of the argument and experts in relevant fields including amongst others the Polish Ambassador Witold Sobków, diplomat Rob Macaire who has held posts in embassies in Europe and is a counter-terrorism expert and Isabel Hardman from The Spectator. Please note that not all these speakers will be present on both nights.
Finding two large venues has been a challenge but we have now settled on the MacDonald Botley Park Hotel on Friday 26th February 2016 and Horndean Technology College on Friday 18th March 2016. Both meetings will commence at 7.30pm and end at 9 pm. There will be a capacity of 450 guests on each evening on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. If you would like to attend, please visit www.george.hollingbery.com/eu and complete the online registration form. The registration webpage will open on the 1st February and close when all of the spaces have been filled. Please feel free to pass the invitation on to any friends or neighbours who you think may be interested, but please note that attendance is only for those living in the Meon Valley constituency.
I know how I intend to vote and would like to,know more about George’s opinion
Well these are popular. I tried to book 2 tickets for 26th Feb, but only one is left. On 18th just 3 tickets remained. I have booked for that night but unfortunately my husband cant make that night.
Hi Jennie – If you email Georges office and ask if they can let you know about any cancellations that might work? guy.
Have tried to visit the site to book tickets for Horndean but cannot get on the site so I assume all the tickets have gone
Hi Diane, yes, I think they all went within a few days. Guy.
Would you be able to confirm that we have to bring Id with us to the EU meeting. I am sure that I read it somewhere on the original web site. Many Thanks
Hi Helen, the event is only open to residents in Georges Meon Valley constituency and when you register this asked for your address. Please take your ticket with you either as a paper copy or on tablet or phone. Guy.
