As regular readers will be aware our MP, George Hollingbery, has been working closely with District Councillors to tackle unsuitable development in East Hants, and especially south of Butser.
Yesterday, George held a planning summit, supported by Ms Suella Fernandes, a planning barrister from No 5 Chambers in London. The meeting was attended by planning officers from EHDC as well as District and Parish Councillors, plus representatives from community groups and residents’ associations.
It was a thoroughly interesting meeting which went a long way to clarifying aspects of the five-year land supply and a more robust definition of ‘sustainable development’. These issues are crucial in opposing unsuitable development in our area.
The summit will be followed up with a public meeting on the evening of the 17th October. If you would like to take part in this meeting can you email George on firstname.lastname@example.org with ‘planning meeting’ in the subject line with your full name, telephone number and postal address of everyone who would like to attend and George’s office will send out formal details next week.
