Over the next few weeks the A3M Northbound carriageway is being closed from 10pm to 6am for resurfacing works. This is to include a quieter tarmac surface which has already been applied over much of the carriageway.
As part of the consultation process I suggested spikes embedded into the tarmac that activate and rise when the exhaust of a particularly deafening motorbike, or lime green Vauxhall Nova with lowered suspension, CHAV lighting to the underside and Halfords 400W stereo with Boom Box Base units passes over and can be heard from 2 miles away. Sadly this suggestion has not made its way into the final scope of works.
A full list of the closure dates is below:
for writing rubbish about motorcycles you ought to be nailed to a tree and let me loose on you.
Hi Tom, I guess I can’t please all of the people all of the time! Besides, 4 wheels are better than 2!!!
I agree with Guy, having been woken up last night at around 2am when a very (illegally imo) loud motorbike went pst my house last night at full chat in a 30mph zone. They don’t do themselves any favours.
Will the diversion be along residential Southdown Road or Parallel London Road which is a national speed limit? All the best

Hi Andy, good question. I would fully expect it to be London Road. Guy.
Any chance of air-to-ground missiles for the idiots that chuck out their half-eaten takeaway from their car?
Steve, Definitely. I’ll find some grant funding for that!!!
