In the last few months the Joint Core Strategy has been prepared and approved by EHDC. this has been out to public consultation for 6 weeks, and letters of representation have been received from Parish Councils, residents and developers. Unsurprisingly, the comments from people who live and work in our community were to seek less housing, or a fairer split between inside and outside of the park, and the developers pushing for more housing.
During the 29th to 31st October a hearing was held with the Government Inspector who heard representation from all parties and questions were answered by EHDC and SNDP, the Park coming under repeated pressure on its housing number intake.
These hearings have now closed, and the inspector has committed to responding by Mid November with his views. the big question is will he leave the numbers as they are, reallocate some to the park, or insist on an increase.
As soon as we hear I will post an update.
