EHDC are launching a new grant scheme for District Councillors to use in the local community. The requirement is that it must provide a valuable service to residents that benefit the community at large. These will be issued to not-for-profit organisations in grants of £250 to £1,000, and the scheme will commence from April 2014.
The projects must meet one or more special aims if it is to receive the funding. These include:
Environmental benefits
Healthier lifestyles and activities
Support for disadvantaged people
Supporting economic development
Community engagement
Capacity building
There are 5 District Councillors in Horndean, and we can club together to spend some of this on a joint project, or entirely in our wards.
Please get in touch if you have any thoughts on how this might be best used to better Downs Ward and Horndean in general.
