Reminder of this important meeting:
Tuesday July 30th at Horndean Technology College Sixth Form block Community Forum meeting on the housing levels Horndean will need to take between now and 2028. this is an important meeting and if you can attend will inform you what changes we will see in the community.
The SHMA (Strategic Housing Market Assessment) shows that 10,060 new houses are needed in East Hants between 2011 and 2028. 2,750 of these are to be built at the new Whitehill Bordon Eco Town. 650 to 950 of these will be built in the South Downs National Park which leaves some 6,500 to be built to the North and South of the park. A sizeable chunk of this will be coming to Horndean and Clanfield.
Our next steps in the community are to channel this housing to the right location and ensure we get the right facilities with it. This is through the process of allocations (will take place over the next 2 years) and negotiating with developers on the type of community infrastructure we might wish to see.
Updates will appear here.
