Hampshire County Council and East Hants District Council are funding a scheme to help young people aged 16 to 25 to get to work or employment training opportunities. This is particularly targeted at rural and semi rural areas like ourselves where there is no suitable public transport.
The scheme is to Loan a 50cc moped which is taxed and insured for £15 per week.
Currently East Hants have about 15 Mopeds ready to go, and half are in use with most in Alton and just one in Clanfield.
If you know a young person who is struggling to get to interviews, work or employment training then please pass these details onto them.
If you do apply please let me know.
Further notes below from the East Hants web page:
To be eligible for the scheme users must:-
•Live in East Hampshire
•Have no access to suitable public transport
•Have no access to private transport
•Need to access employment or employment related training; or are actively seeking work (need to attend interviews etc)
