The Gales Brewery site was due to have a care home built in, one of the key needs for Horndean to help give some of our aging population more suitable housing so they can remain in the same community if they wish. Following the demise of a national care home provider, who were the development partner, Linden have applied to change the care home to 32 flats. We do need affordable housing in our community, but this would be a loss of an employment site and an important type of housing for the community.
